Proton has officially launched the e.Mas 7, marking its first foray into electric vehicles after an extensive teaser campaign.
The e.Mas 7 comes in two variants: Prime and Premium. Both are equipped with a front-mounted electric motor delivering 218 PS (160 kW) and 320 Nm of torque, capable of going 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 175 km/h.
The Prime variant features a 49.52 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery from Geely’s Aegis short blade series, offering a WLTP-rated range of 345 km, while the Premium’s 60.22 kWh battery extends the range to 410 km.
Charging capabilities for both include a maximum AC charging rate of 11 kW, requiring 4.9 hours for a full charge on the Prime and 6.1 hours on the Premium.
The Premium variant also supports up to 100 kW DC charging (80 kW for the Prime), allowing for a 30-80% state of charge in just 20 minutes. Proton claims a 10-minute charge can provide an additional 135 km of range.
Both models come with Level 2 ADAS and have earned a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating.
Pricing starts at RM109,800 for the e.Mas 7 Prime, with the Premium model priced at RM123,800. An early bird discount of RM4,000 is available for the first 3,000 customers, reducing the retail prices to RM105,800 and RM119,800, respectively.
The vehicle warranty covers six years with unlimited mileage, while the battery and EV components have an eight-year/160,000 km warranty.
Currently, the e.Mas 7 is being imported as a CBU from China, with no set timeline for local CKD assembly. Deliveries are slated to begin next year.
