AMD is rumoured to announce their next-generation Radeon RDNA 4 graphic cards (GPUs) at CES 2025, but thanks to leaks, we now know what the giant chipmaking company will be calling them.
The new naming convention follows an X0X0 pattern, differing from AMD’s current XX00 scheme.
For example, the current AMD desktop GPUs are known as the RX 7900 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 7600, etc. But the new GPUs will be known as RX 9070 XT, RX 9060, etc.
As to why the company decided to change the naming convention, we can only wait for the official announcement.
