OnePlus introduced two new smartphones to their lineup recently: the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. These budget flagship devices promise premium features and powerful performance, all while maintaining competitive price points.
OnePlus Ace 5 Pro

This phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship chip, which is equipped with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It runs on Android 15-based ColorOS 15 right out of the box.
The phone boast a 6.78-inch 120Hz 2780×1264-pixel resolution 8T LTPO AMOLED display, protected by Crystal Shield Glass. With a peak brightness of 4,500 nits and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+, these screens offer an exceptional viewing experience, even when your hands are wet or you’re wearing gloves.
There’s a triple cameras setup which includes a 50MP primary sensor (Sony IMX906, OIS), an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 112° field of view, and a 2MP macro lens. The front of the phone features a 16MP selfie camera.
This budget flagship packs a 6,100mAh silicon carbon battery with support for 100W fast charging. It also features bypass charging, designed to optimise gaming sessions.
The Ace 5 Pro goes a step further with “double ice core VC” technology for twice the heat dissipation speed and a chip air duct design that quickly disperses heat from the bottom of the chip.
Additional features of the Ace 5 Pro include an X-axis linear motor, stereo speakers, multifunctional NFC, an IR blaster, and an IP65 rating. The smartphone is also equipped with Wi-Fi 7 and a gaming Wi-Fi chip called G1.
The Ace 5 Pro has a starting price of CNY3,399 (~RM2,083) for the 12GB/256GB model.
OnePlus Ace 5

The Ace 5, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, houses a slightly larger 6,415mAh silicon carbon battery that supports up to 80W charging via USB-C.
While it lacks the gaming Wi-Fi chip and the same advanced VC cooling system as the Ace 5 Pro, it still shares many of the same high-end features.
The Ace 5 is set to be released as the OnePlus 13R, with a global launch scheduled for 7 January 2025.
