Samsung finally announced the long-awaited Galaxy S25 Series at Galaxy Unpacked in San Jose, California. As usual, the lineup consists of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, with some slight design changes and a minor spec bump.
All the phones are now powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, as opposed to the previous generation, where the S24 and S24+ got the Exynos 2400, and only the S24 Ultra got the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Out of the box, the phones are running One UI 7, come with some new AI features, and Samsung pledges seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.
Galaxy S25 and S25+

Both models come with 12GB of RAM as standard. The base Galaxy S25 offers three storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25+ is available with either 256GB or 512GB of storage.
The Galaxy S25+ features a sharper 1440p+ display compared to the 1080p+ resolution on the standard model. Both models use LTPO OLED panels with adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.
In terms of cameras, the Galaxy S25 and S25+ share the same triple-camera setup: a 12MP ultrawide lens, a 50MP main sensor, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. On the front, both phones are equipped with a 12MP selfie camera.
The battery capacities differ between the two models. The Galaxy S25 is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, while the S25+ boasts a larger 4,900mAh unit. The S25+ supports faster 45W wired charging, reaching 65% in just 30 minutes, compared to the S25’s 25W wired charging, which achieves 50% in the same time. Both models also support 15W Qi wireless charging.
Other features include an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance (submersible up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes), Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ come in four standard colours: Navy, Icy Blue, Mint, and Silver Shadow. Online buyers have the option to choose from three exclusive colours: Blue Black, Coral Red, and Pink Gold.

Galaxy S25 Ultra

While the Galaxy S25 and S25+ closely resemble their predecessors in design, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has been refreshed with softer, curvier corners. It is also thinner and lighter than the previous generation.
The S25 Ultra offers three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, all paired with 12GB of RAM.
This flagship phone features a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz variable refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Armor 2 for added durability.
In the camera department, the S25 Ultra retains the 200MP primary sensor, the 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and the 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom from its predecessor. However, it now includes a new 50MP ultrawide sensor. All cameras, except for the ultrawide, are equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS). The 12MP front camera remains unchanged.
The battery capacity is unchanged at 5,000mAh, supporting 45W fast charging, 15W QC2.0 wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Samsung has made notable improvements to the phone’s thermal management, incorporating a 40% larger vapor chamber and a customised thermal interface material (TIM) for enhanced heat dissipation.
The S25 Ultra’s frame is crafted from titanium, offering superior durability while maintaining an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
One significant change is the S-Pen, which now lacks Bluetooth connectivity. While this means you can no longer use it as a wireless controller for tasks like photography, Samsung claims the decision reduces the stylus’ weight and contributes to the Ultra’s lighter design. Whether this trade-off is worthwhile is up to users to decide.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is available in Titanium Silver Blue, Titanium Gray, Titanium White Silver, and Titanium Black. For those ordering online through Samsung’s official website, exclusive colour options include Titanium Jade Green, Titanium Pink Gold, and Titanium Jet Black.
