Google is gearing up to unveil the Pixel 9a next month, with an official announcement scheduled for 19 March and a release date set for 26 March. However, thanks to a recent leak, we don’t have to wait until next month to get a glimpse of its design, specifications, and pricing.
The Pixel 9a stands out as an unusual addition to the Pixel 9 series. Unlike the rest of the lineup, which features a flat camera bar, the Pixel 9a’s camera will be seamlessly integrated into the back of the phone, giving it a sleek, flush appearance.

Under the hood, the Pixel 9a is expected to be powered by Google’s Tensor G4 SoC. It will boast a 48MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a 1/2″ type sensor, accompanied by a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 13MP front-facing camera.
The device is rumoured to house a 5,100mAh battery, the largest ever seen in a Pixel phone, supporting wired charging up to 23W and wireless charging at 7.5W.
The Pixel 9a will be available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony. Pricing starts at USD499 (~RM2,231) for the 128GB model, while the 256GB version will be priced at USD599 (~RM2,679).
There’s a possibility that this budget-friendly Pixel phone could make its way to Malaysia, especially since the other models in the Pixel 9 series have already been released in the region.
