Xiaomi 15 Series Debuts In Malaysia: Flagship Features From RM3,499

Only the Xiaomi 15 and the 15 Ultra are coming, while the Pro version remains exclusive to China.

Xiaomi finally announced the global launch of its latest flagship phones, the Xioami 15 and 15 Ultra at an event in Barcelona, Spain.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra

The 15 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The device boasts a stunning 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 3200×1440 resolution, a dynamic 1-120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits.

The phone has a CNC-crafted aluminium frame and Xiaomi’s Shield Glass 2.0, which claims a 16x improvement in drop resistance compared to its predecessor.

The camera system, co-engineered with Leica, remains a standout feature. The main camera features a 1-inch 50MP Sony LYT-900 sensor paired with a 23mm lens, but this year it comes with a fixed f/1.63 aperture instead of the variable f/1.6-f/4.0 aperture found on the 14 Ultra.

The 50MP 3x telephoto lens retains the 1/2.51-inch IMX858 sensor but now features a 70mm f/1.8 lens, replacing the previous 75mm f/1.8 lens.

The 50MP ultrawide camera sees a slight change, moving from a 12mm f/1.8 lens on the 14 Ultra to a 14mm f/2.2 lens on the 15 Ultra, though both use the same 1/2.51-inch Samsung JN5 sensor.

The most notable upgrade is the new 100mm f/2.6 zoom camera, which utilizes the same 200MP Samsung HP9 1/1.4-inch sensor found in the vivo X100 Ultra and X200 Pro. For selfies, the phone features a 32MP front-facing camera.

Powering the device is a robust 5,410mAh (China’s version has a 6,000mAh battery) battery, supported by 90W wired and 80W wireless charging capabilities.

Xiaomi 15

The Xiaomi 15 features a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1200×2670 pixels, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and the same durable drop-resistant glass found on the Ultra model.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

The device boasts a versatile camera setup, including a 50MP main camera with a 23mm f/1.6 lens and a 1/1.31-inch sensor. For zoom capabilities, it features a 50MP 60mm f/2.0 telephoto camera equipped with a 1/2.51-inch Samsung JN5 sensor, along with a 50MP 14mm f/2.2 ultrawide lens. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera with a 22mm f/2.0 lens.
