Acer Malaysia has rolled out updates to its gaming laptop lineup with the new Predator Helios 18 AI and Predator Helios Neo 16S AI. Both models are powered by Intel Core Ultra 9 processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs, bringing some serious performance upgrades for gamers.
Predator Helios 18 AI
The flagship Predator Helios 18 AI comes with an 18-inch QHD+ Mini-LED display that boasts a 250Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits of HDR brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. To push things even further, it supports up to a massive 192GB of DDR5 RAM and 6TB of SSD storage across multiple slots.
Keeping all that power cool is Acer’s 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans, which feature ultra-thin 0.05mm blades—claimed to be the world’s thinnest. Inside, it packs an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU.
Predator Helios Neo 16S AI
For those who prefer something a bit more portable, the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI is a slimmer option at just 12mm at its thinnest point. Don’t let the size fool you, though—it’s still a powerhouse with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU.
It comes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD, both of which can be upgraded later. The laptop sports a 16-inch QHD+ 240Hz OLED display and uses 5th Gen AeroBlade cooling with liquid metal to manage heat.
Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller
Acer also introduced the Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller, designed for smartphones. It works with Android 9.0 and up, as well as iPhone 15 series and newer, as long as the device size doesn’t exceed 8.3 inches (even with cases on).
The controller supports both wired and wireless charging and includes an 18W passthrough charging port. Gamers get 15 buttons to play with, including analog L2/R2 triggers.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing for these new devices is steep. The Predator Helios 18 AI comes in at a whopping RM19,999 and is available for pre-order at Acer concept stores until 15 May 2025.
The Predator Helios Neo 16S AI is slightly more affordable at RM11,999, with pre-orders running from 15 to 31 May 2025.
As for the Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller, it’s priced at RM439, but Acer is offering an early bird discount of RM349 until 15 May 2025.
