OnePlus launched the Nord 4 last August, which means the brand is getting close to the release of its successor, the Nord 5.
Thanks to a leaker on X (formerly Twitter), we now know some of its key specs. According to the leak, the Nord 5 will feature a flat OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, it’s expected to run on the yet-to-be-announced Dimensity 9400e chipset, which is rumoured to be a slightly toned-down version of the Dimensity 9400. If true, this would be a big performance upgrade over the Nord 4’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.
Camera-wise, the Nord 5 might stick with the same setup as its predecessor—a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 16MP front-facing shooter.
However, the battery is getting a major bump, jumping from 5,500mAh to a massive 7,000mAh. It’ll also support 100W wired charging. Other details include a glass back, plastic frame, dual speakers, and an IR blaster.
In India, the Nord 5 is rumoured to be priced around INR30,000, which roughly converts to about RM1,500 based on current exchange rates.
That seems a little too cheap, though—especially since the Nord 4 launched at RM2,599 here. Maybe the leak got the pricing wrong, or OnePlus is planning a surprise with aggressive pricing.
That’s all we know for now, but with the launch approaching, we’ll likely hear more about the Nord 5 in the coming weeks.
