RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro Unveiled – 165Hz OLED, Snapdragon 8 Elite & Liquid Metal Cooling

This tablet is coming globally on 1 July under the name of RedMagic Astra.

RedMagic just dropped its most powerful gaming tablet in China, the RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro. It’s packed with high-end specs aimed at serious mobile gamers.

The tablet features a 9.06-inch OLED display with a super-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. The screen hits a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and maintains 1,100 nits at full-screen brightness, all while using 5,280Hz high-frequency PWM to reduce eye strain.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage. There’s also a dedicated RedCore R3 Pro chip that can upscale game graphics to 2K resolution at up to 120fps.

To keep things cool, RedMagic included its ICE-X Cooling system, which uses liquid metal, a big vapour chamber, and an RGB-lit fan that supposedly drops chip temps by up to 8°C.

Battery life is solid, with an 8,200mAh cell that delivers up to 5.5 hours of gaming (tested with Honkai: Star Rail). It supports 80W fast charging, hitting 50% in just 20 minutes.

The USB-C port is placed higher up on the side to avoid cable clutter while gaming, and it’s a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port capable of outputting 8K at 60Hz (or 4K at 144Hz).

The tablet’s built from aerospace-grade aluminium with a sleek 4.9mm bezel around the display. The back is mostly metal, except for a glass panel that shows off the cooling fan inside.

RedMagic also includes a PC emulator that can run AAA games like Tomb Raider (2013) at 60fps, plus optional accessories like the Shadow Blade Gamepad 3 and IceBlade Magnetic Keyboard.

In China, the base model (12GB/256GB) starts at CNY3,999 (~RM2,354). It’s set to launch globally on 1 July under the name RedMagic Astra.
