The OnePlus Ace 6T Rebrands Globally As The 15R, With A Few Key Tweaks

Battery size got downgraded, but the selfie camera got an upgrade.

The OnePlus 15R is finally here for the global market. If it looks a bit familiar, that’s because it’s essentially the global version of the Ace 6T that launched in China earlier this month. OnePlus has made a few tweaks for the international crowd, but the core of that rather tempting budget flagship remains very much intact.

The most noticeable change is actually a step down in one department: the battery. The Chinese Ace 6T boasted an enormous 8,300mAh cell, but the 15R settles for a still-very-respectable 7,400mAh. However, it comes with slightly slower 80W wired charging, compared to the Ace 6T’s 100W.

On the upside, there are a couple of upgrades tucked in. The selfie camera gets a bump to 32MP from the 16MP sensor on the Chinese model. More significantly, the software is fully globalised, booting OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, complete with the full suite of OnePlus AI features.

As for everything else? It’s all the same rather compelling package. You’re looking at a 6.83-inch AMOLED LTPS display with a FHD+ resolution and a silky-smooth 165Hz variable refresh rate, all protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. Under the bonnet sits the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and your choice of 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Round the back, the dual-camera setup is led by a 50MP main shooter (the IMX906) with optical image stabilisation and a 24mm equivalent focal length. It’s joined by an 8MP ultrawide with a 112-degree field of view. The phone also comes with a seriously robust set of durability credentials, boasting IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

The OnePlus 15R will be available in Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze colourways. At the moment, OnePlus Malaysia hasn’t announced local pricing or availability just yet, but the phone has already popped up on their official website, so it likely won’t be too long a wait.
