Following its initial debut in China late last year, Huawei has finally brought the Mate X7 over to Malaysian shores.
Mate X7 boasts a big 8-inch main display with a 2416×2210 resolution and a 6.4-inch cover screen with a 2444×1080 resolution. Both panels use LTPO OLED tech, meaning you get those buttery smooth refresh rates that scale from 1Hz right up to 120Hz depending on what you are doing.

Under the bonnet, Huawei is using its own Kirin 9030 Pro silicon paired with a hefty 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is all tied together by HarmonyOS 6.0, which has been tweaked specifically for the foldable form factor. Expect better multitasking, slicker animations, and a more cohesive experience if you are already using other Huawei devices.
For the camera setup, Huawei incorporated a 50MP main sensor with variable aperture to help with low-light shots, backed up by a 40MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto lens capable of 3.5x optical zoom. There are also a couple of 8MP selfie cameras on the inner and outer displays.

Durability is often the big worry with foldables, but Huawei has put some work into the hinge and materials here. Interestingly, it comes with IP58 and IP59 ratings protection against dust and water. To keep it running all day, there is a 5,600mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging and 50W if you prefer going wireless.
Pricing and Availability
If you fancy picking one up, it will set you back RM8,688. Pre-orders kicked off on 20 January across Huawei’s own site and their official shops on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok. It comes in three colourways: Brocade White, Nebula Red, and Black.

They are sweetening the deal quite a bit for early birds, throwing in a Watch 5, a MatePad 11.5, and various screen protection plans, with the total value of the freebies and trade-in rebates reaching up to RM7,597.
