RedMagic has just pulled the wraps off the 11 Air in China, and it is a bit of a departure from the usual chunky gaming bricks we have grown used to. The big selling point here is that it is designed to be thin and light, aiming to offer a more lightweight gaming device without stripping away the high-end features that mobile gamers actually care about.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. You can spec it with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage for nippy read speeds.

The display is classic RedMagic, meaning there are no notches or punch-holes to get in the way of your matches. It uses a 6.85-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and hides a 16MP selfie camera right under the glass. For security, there is an optical fingerprint scanner built into the screen, and the whole thing is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.
Flipping it over, you get a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation and an 8MP ultrawide lens. Perhaps the most impressive feat is the battery; despite the slim profile, they have managed to cram in a massive 7,000mAh cell that supports 120W wired charging. It ships with RedMagic OS 11.0, which is based on Android 16.

In terms of the build, it measures just 7.85mm thick and weighs 207 grams. Remarkably, the engineers still found room for a physical cooling fan that spins at 24,000 RPM to keep temperatures in check during intense gaming sessions. It also comes with an IP54 rating, offering some basic protection against dust and splashes.

If you are interested in the aesthetics, it comes in two finishes called Quantum Black and Stardust White. In China, the entry-level model starts at CNY3,499 (~RM2,031), while the top-tier version hits CNY4,199 (~RM2,438). For those of us outside of China, the wait is almost over, as the international launch is scheduled for 29 January with presumably identical specifications.
