Casio has just unveiled a pair of limited edition calculators that pay homage to the legendary artist Katsushika Hokusai, most famous for his masterpiece The Great Wave off Kanagawa. It is a bit of a departure from their standard office kit, but these new calculators look surprisingly beautiful for a bit of desktop stationery.

The first version, the JF-M200-TJ-KHK, is decked out in that iconic wave imagery, while its counterpart, the JF-M200-TJ-KHG, takes inspiration from Fine Wind, Clear Morning, featuring a bold blue and orange depiction of Mount Fuji.

Casio has used inkjet printing for the casing and the keycaps, and they have even gone as far as choosing a specific font for the buttons to complement the traditional ukiyo-e aesthetic.

Over in Japan, these are hitting the shelves today, 22 January, with a price tag of JPY5,500 (~RM140.50). While they are a Japanese release for now, they have already been spotted on the brand’s Malaysian site. This is a pretty good sign that we might see them arrive in other markets before too long, so keep your eyes peeled if you want to add a bit of classical art to your workspace.
