Nothing Phone (4a) & (4a) Pro Officially Launched: Here’s Everything You Need To Know (Except For Prices)

We will have to wait until 1 April 2026 to find out what these phones are going to cost.

After much teasing, Nothing has finally showcased their latest mid-range phones, the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro

The star of the show is definitely the Phone (4a) Pro. It is packing the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and you can pick it up with either 8GB or 12GB of fast LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, so it should feel pretty snappy in daily use.

On the front, the Pro sports a massive 6.83-inch 144Hz LTPS OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution that is eye-wateringly bright, peaking at 5,000 nits. To keep your eyes from straining, it uses high-frequency PWM dimming, and the whole thing is tucked under Gorilla Glass 7i for protection.

For the camera setup, the Pro is packing a 50MP Sony Lytia 700c main sensor with OIS and a 50MP periscope lens that offers 3.5x optical zoom. It can even push to 7x using in-sensor zoom. But the Pro is still using an ancient 8MP ultrawide sensor from Sony. The selfie camera has actually taken a bit of a spec hit, dropping to a 32MP sensor compared to the 50MP one we saw on the previous Pro model.

Round the back, Nothing has included a circular Glyph Matrix made of 137 LEDs. While that is fewer LEDs than the Phone (3), they are much brighter and the circular interface is significantly larger.

Powering everything is a 5,080mAh battery with 50W wired charging. Interestingly, Nothing is claiming the battery will stay healthy for longer than the industry standard, retaining 90% capacity after 1,200 cycles.

The Pro is built with an aluminium alloy frame and carries an IP65 rating, meaning it can handle a bit of a submersion under water. It ships with Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16, and the company is promising three years of OS updates alongside six years of security patches. The Pro will be available in black, silver and pink colourways.

Nothing Phone (4a)

The standard Phone (4a) scales things back slightly with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip and slower LPDDR4X 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The screen is a fraction smaller at 6.78 inches LTPS OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a slightly lower peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

You also lose out on the premium metal finish, as this model opts for a plastic body and a slightly lower IP64 durability rating. The (4a) will be available in black, white, blue and pink colours.

Most of the cameras on the standard (4a) are the same as the Pro, though the main sensor switches to a Samsung GN9. Instead of the circular Glyph Matrix, you get a Glyph Bar, which consists of 63 LEDs arranged in a line. It still looks very distinctive, but it is a simpler take on the signature Nothing aesthetic.
