MyDIGITAL Corporation is teaming up with Oracle to give Malaysia’s tech scene a massive boost, aiming to train 300,000 locals in artificial intelligence (AI) by 2029.
As the agency behind Malaysia’s digital economy blueprint and 4IR policy, MyDIGITAL is working alongside the US tech giant to make sure the workforce is ready for the future. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo stated that this push for better employability and it is open to both students and professionals, according to Bernama.
The core of this partnership is the Oracle Skills Development Initiative, which offers free training and globally recognised certifications to help people level up their careers. It is all about democratising high-level tech education, ensuring that the cost of learning isn’t a barrier to entry.
By equipping the workforce with these specialised skills, the government hopes to create a more resilient and competitive labour market as the country leans further into the digital age.
Participants will get stuck into some pretty heavy-duty tech, covering everything from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and generative AI to data science and security. The curriculum even dives into APEX and DevOps, giving learners a well-rounded toolkit for modern development. All of this is being delivered through the Oracle MyLearn platform, which serves as a one-stop shop for training and empowerment.
Ultimately, this initiative is a major pillar in the mission to turn Malaysia into a proper AI nation by 2030. Gobind emphasised that nurturing local talent is the only way to hit that goal collectively.
