Star Wars Jedi Is Getting A Third Game And It’s Being Developed By Respawn

Over 40 million users have played the series to date, according to EA, the publisher.

Laura Miele, president of EA Entertainment and Technology, said that the Star Wars Jedi series is getting a third game during a presentation at the company’s investor relations day.

“We have delivered some of the highest quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all-time, with over USD5 billion (~RM21.3 billion) in net bookings,” she said.

“This impressive track record includes of course the Star Wars Jedi games, where over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi.

Miele also said that Respawn (the studio behind the series) is working hard to bring the third and final game of the series to the players.

Stig Asmussen, the director of 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and 2023’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, expressed his desire to create a third Star Wars Jedi game, envisioning it as a three-game story arc.

He said “I always wanted to see this as a trilogy.” “How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game?”

“We had a pretty decent idea of timeframe where we wanted Survivor to take place, what the stakes were going to be, what the tone of the game was going to be, what Cal was going to be up against, and how the crew was going to factor into that. And there’s ideas of what we could do beyond that as well.”

Asmussen departed from Respawn last year and subsequently established a new studio named “Giant Skull.” He is now spearheading the development of the studio’s first game, a “AAA single-player focused action adventure,” using Unreal Engine 5.
