Samsung Galaxy Glasses Leak: Here What We Know About The New XR Smart Glasses

This will be the company's first smart glasses, running on the Android XR platform.

Some renders of Samsung’s first crack at XR (Extended Reality) glasses have just leaked online.

Apparently dubbed the Galaxy Glasses, Samsung is reportedly teaming up with style heavyweights Warby Parker and Gentle Monster according to Android Headlines.

Under the frame, these specs are rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chipset, which brings all the expected Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity to the party. There is a 12MP camera using a Sony IMX681 sensor, plus some clever directional speakers to keep your audio private.

Even with a 155mAh battery tucked inside, they are allegedly keeping the weight down to about 50g, which should make them comfortable enough for all-day wear.

These are clearly designed to go toe-to-toe with the Meta Ray-Bans, but Samsung is leaning on the new Android XR platform to give them an edge. That means Gemini will be built right into the experience, giving you an AI assistant literally sitting on the bridge of your nose. We are expecting to hear a lot more about how Android XR actually functions during Google I/O next month.

If you are wondering when you can actually get your hands on them, the Galaxy Glasses will likely make their debut at Samsung’s summer Unpacked event. That is most likely happening in July and alongside the glasses, we are expecting to see the Galaxy Z Fold8, the Z Flip8, and the new Z Fold Wide.
