After a fair amount of speculation earlier this year suggested the company might be reconsidering its approach to bringing PlayStation 5 titles to computers, Hermen Hulst has apparently set the record straight during a staff meeting.
The head of PlayStation Studios has reportedly told employees that their narrative-driven single-player games are going to stay firmly on the console side of things from here on out.
The news comes via a reputable video games journalist Jason Schreier, who confirmed that Hulst addressed the team during a town hall meeting. It seems to be a return to a more traditional model for their blockbuster projects.

This is quite a shift when you look back at how much has changed since 2020. Sony had been on a roll, bringing massive hits like God of War, The Last of Us, and Marvel’s Spider-Man over to PC, which had many of us expecting more of the same. With this latest update, it sounds like highly anticipated titles like Ghost of Yotei, Saros and Marvel’s Wolverine are going to be PlayStation exclusives for the foreseeable future.
That said, it is not a complete walling off of the platform. Sony is still keeping the door open for its live-service multiplayer games. Titles in that vein, such as Helldivers 2 and Marathon, are still expected to make their way to PC, so there is still a reason for PC players to keep an eye on what Sony is doing in the multiplayer space.
