Synology PAS7700 Released In Malaysia: High-Performance Enterprise Data Storage

This is an active-active NVMe storage system with dual-controller architecture and 48 NVMe SSD bays.

Synology has officially launched its new PAS7700 storage system in Malaysia, and it is an active-active, all-flash NVMe setup built specifically to keep mission-critical enterprise workloads running fast and without interruption.

Under the hood, this 4U chassis packs a dual-controller architecture and 48 NVMe SSD bays. If you need to scale, it can go up to 1.65 PB of raw capacity by hooking up to seven expansion units.

It is also highly versatile, playing nicely with both file and block protocols like NVMe-oF, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, SMB, and NFS. With up to 2,048 GB of memory and 100GbE networking, this system can push up to 2 million IOPS at sub-millisecond latency, topping out at 30 GB/s throughput.

Synology designed the PAS7700 for environments where downtime simply is not an option. Thanks to its active-active design, it provides multi-layer redundancy using RAID triple-parity, synchronised in-memory write protection, IP failover, and protocol-level failover. This means your operations keep ticking along smoothly even if something unexpected goes wrong. Plus, you get Synology’s usual suite of data protection tools right out of the box, including Self-Encrypting Drives, WORM shared folders, immutable snapshots, Snapshot Replication, and Hyper Backup.

On top of the raw power and reliability, it is also geared towards cutting down costs and maximising storage efficiency. Advanced deduplication helps shrink the footprint of massive enterprise workloads. Synology is also planning to add support for Synology Tiering soon, which will automatically shift cold data to cheaper storage based on your own customisable policies, leaving the pricey, high-performance flash free for active tasks.

If you want to get your hands on one, the Synology PAS7700 is available now through their global network of distributors and partners.
