Xiaomi 17T & 17T Pro Arrived In Malaysia With Massive Batteries And Leica Cameras; Price Starts At RM2,399

The 17T is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, while the Pro gets the flagship 9500 chip.

Xiaomi Malaysia just announced its latest line-up, dropping the new Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro. Both of these handsets come packed with MediaTek Dimensity processors and that Leica-tuned camera tech we have come to expect.

If you are looking at the standard Xiaomi 17T, you are getting a MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chip, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. If you want a bit more grunt, the Pro model steps things up with a flagship-grade Dimensity 9500 processor, which should give you a noticeable boost in AI tasks, gaming, and photography. The Pro also gets 12GB of RAM, but gives you the option to max out your space with a hefty 1TB variant.

When it comes to the screens, the base 17T features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro version goes a bit bigger and brighter, offering a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel that hits a slick 144Hz refresh rate and a whopping 3500 nits of peak brightness. Both models are packed with eye-care tech as well, making this series the first to land the TÜV Rheinland quadruple eye-care certification, so your eyes should feel a lot less strained during late-night scrolling sessions.

Of course, the big talking point is always the Leica cameras. Both phones feature a 50MP main sensor, though the Pro gets a larger 1/1.31-inch sensor compared to the 1/1.55-inch one on the regular 17T. They both benefit from a Leica UltraPure optical design and a hybrid Leica Summilux lens layout.

Alongside the main camera, you get a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, 10x lossless zoom, and a massive 120x AI Ultra Zoom. Rounding out the back is a standard 12MP ultrawide lens, while a 32MP selfie camera sits up front. Plus, popular features like Leica Live Moment and Leica Live Portrait are making a comeback here.

Battery life should also be stellar this time around, with both devices getting massive upgrades over the previous generation. The standard 17T packs a huge 6500mAh battery with 67W fast charging, while the Pro model bumps things up to a massive 7000mAh cell with even faster 100W charging.
