Redmi K90 Ultra Launched In China With Bose Sound And A Massive 8,550mAh Battery

It's powered by the older, but still powerful, Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Redmi has just dropped a brand new budget flagship over in China, the K90 Ultra, and one of the coolest features is that it sports dual symmetrical stereo speakers that have been tuned by Bose, which should make for some pretty amazing entertainment experience.

The phone is running the slightly older Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. To keep things running smoothly, Redmi has thrown in a built-in active cooling fan.

They claim it can drop temperatures by up to 10°C, meaning you can look forward to long gaming sessions without worrying about thermal throttling. Plus, there is a standalone D2 interpolation chip dedicated entirely to boosting your gaming performance.

The display is a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED panel with a super smooth 165Hz refresh rate and a crisp 1280×2772 resolution. It also gets incredibly bright, peaking at 3,500 nits, and includes full array DC dimming to keep things easy on your eyes.

When it comes to snapping photos, the K90 Ultra features a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation using a 1/1.55-inch type sensor. That is backed up by an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 20MP front camera for your selfies.

Battery life should be incredible thanks to a gargantuan 8,550mAh cell. It supports 100W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging, and Redmi even includes a 100W GaN charger right in the box. On top of that, it comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, and it runs the latest HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

As for the damage to your wallet, pricing starts at CNY2,999 (~RM1,803) for the 12GB and 256GB variant, scaling up to CNY3,699 (~RM2,224) if you want the 12GB and 512GB model.

Sadly, it is pretty unlikely we will ever see the K90 Ultra officially launch outside of China. A similar phone might pops up under the Poco brand in the near future.
