Nothing Launches Phone (4b) With Snapdragon 6 Gen 4

The phone packs a 6.7-inch screen, a dual-camera setup and up to a 6,000mAh battery.

Nothing has just dropped its latest budget phone, the Phone (4b), which slots itself right between the (4a) and the (3a) Lite.

The phone is running a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, paired up with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

On the front, you are looking at a 6.77-inch OLED display with a 1080p+ resolution. It is a smooth 120Hz panel that gets plenty bright, cranking up to 1,200 nits when you are out in the sun, and peaking at 2,000 nits. Plus, the display is protected by Dragontrail Pro Glass.

Flip it over, and you will spot a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide snapper for capturing wider views. If you are into shooting video, the main camera handles 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps, whilst a 16MP selfie camera handles things on the front.

True to the brand’s signature style, the famous Glyph Bar makes an appearance on the back with four white LEDs and one red one, letting you customise them for timers, recording alerts, and notifications.

Battery life looks quite promising, though it depends on where you live. The global version packs a 5,200mAh battery, whereas the Indian market gets a bigger 6,000mAh cell. Both versions support 33W wired charging and 7.5W reverse charging to top up your accessories.

In terms of connectivity, it features dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC. You also get stereo speakers and a couple of microphones, though you will need to ditch the wires as there is no headphone jack.

For durability, it carries an official IP64 splash-resistance rating, though Nothing notes that internal testing saw the phone survive being submerged in 25cm of water for 20 minutes. Rounding out the hardware is an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, a physical proximity sensor, and a handy Essential Key on the side to quickly trigger AI tools and search functions.

Software-wise, it ships with Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16, and the company is promising three years of major OS updates alongside six years of security patches. The Phone (4b) comes in Black, White, and Blue colourways.

If you want to get this phone in Malaysia, you will have to wait just a little longer, as pricing and local availability details have not been revealed just yet.
