Samsung has finally confirmed the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, and it is officially time to get excited for the latest generation of foldable tech.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 22 July in London, U.K. and it will be streamed live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and Samsung’s YouTube channel beginning at 9 pm local time.
While Samsung itself is keeping things pretty close to its chest, only teasing that we will see innovations building on their leadership in foldables, the rumour mill has been working overtime. If the latest leaks are anything to go by, we are in for a few new phones.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is practically a done deal for the event. We are expecting a refreshed compact foldable with a re-engineered hinge, a bit more power, and maybe a slightly lighter body. That said, do not expect a massive design overhaul this around; it is looking more like an evolutionary update than a revolutionary one and it might also be the last Z Flip phone.
The real excitement is brewing around the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which might actually launch in two distinct versions this time. The standard model is rumoured to feature a wider main display, which should make watching videos a lot nicer when the phone is flipped open. The catch is that Samsung might drop one of the rear cameras, leaving it with just a dual-camera setup.
