Last week, Huawei introduced the Watch GT 5 Series at an event in Barcelona, Spain, and now the watches are finally here in Malaysia!
The series consists of the standard GT 5, available in 41mm and 46mm sizes, and the GT 5 Pro, offered in 42mm and 46mm sizes. The GT 5 features a stainless steel chassis, while the GT 5 Pro is crafted from ceramics and titanium alloy.
Both models are equipped with identical screens; the smaller versions have a 1.32-inch AMOLED display, and the larger ones boast a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, all offering a resolution of 466×466.
In terms of durability, the smartwatches operate within a temperature range of –20°C to 45°C and come with 5ATM (50 metres) water resistance and an IP69K rating.
Additionally, the Pro model supports free diving up to 40 meters. The 46mm variants have a battery life of up to 14 days, while the smaller models last up to a week.
Equipped with the brand’s TruSense system, both watches monitor heart rate, blood-oxygen saturation, sleep quality, and menstrual cycle, with ECG tracking exclusive to the Pro model via a side button. They track over 100 exercise types, including a Golf Course mode covering over 15,000 courses worldwide.
Connectivity-wise, both feature on-device GPS, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC support, along with the capability for Bluetooth phone calls through integrated microphones and speakers.
Pricing and Availability
The Watch GT 5 starts at RM1,099 for the 41mm model, and RM1,199 for the 46mm model.
The GT 5 Pro is available at RM1,999 for the 42mm version, and RM1,399 for the 46mm version.
Pre-orders can be made via the Huawei’s online store, Shopee, and Lazada until 4 October, and include a complimentary pair of Huawei FreeBuds 5i.
