Ever since Hideo Kojima parted ways with Konami to launch Kojima Productions, he has been attached at the hip to Sony, pumping out timed exclusives like Death Stranding and its sequel on the PS4 and PS5.
His next big venture, Physint, was slated to be a grand return to the action-espionage genre on the PS5. However, Sony or more specifically, PlayStation Studios, unexpectedly pulled the plug in mid-June 2026.
Fortunately, Kojima did not stay stranded for long. He managed to strike up a new partnership with Xbox, who eagerly scooped up Kojima Productions and Physint to keep the dream alive, greenlighting development for a release on Xbox consoles and we might even see it on PC as well.
Thanks to Xbox, the game is back on track, and fans of his signature stealth-action drama will still get to experience his latest vision, even if it is landing on a completely different platform than originally planned.
