Apple is reportedly gearing up to release new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros featuring touchscreen OLED panels.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, these upcoming laptops will be “significantly lighter” than what is currently on the market. While we do not have exact numbers just yet, Apple has apparently re-engineered the internal components to shed some serious weight.
These machines are expected to run on the M6 chip, with Apple currently testing them alongside macOS 27.2.
Gurman believes we could see these touch-enabled OLED MacBooks officially unveiled as early as October or November this year.
Also, the touchscreen models will likely sit above the standard 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, which are slated to jump straight to M7 Pro and M7 Max chips next year. It remains to be seen whether Apple will stick with the familiar MacBook Pro branding or introduce a brand-new name altogether.
