In the smartphone world, Android foldables are everywhere, but there’s one big player still missing from the foldable game: Apple. That might change soon, though.
According to MacRumors, Jeff Pu, an analyst from an investment firm, GF Securities, which is based in Hong Kong, says Apple is working on two foldable devices.
One’s a foldable iPhone with a 7.8-inch inner screen, and the other’s a bigger 18.8-inch foldable that could be a MacBook-iPad hybrid.
Pu thinks the larger device will probably run macOS instead of iPadOS, based on a report from The Wall Street Journal.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also chimed in, saying Apple’s rumoured design updates in iOS 19 and macOS 16 could pave the way for new hardware, like foldables and touchscreen Macs.
If the rumours are true, these foldable devices will start mass production in late 2026 and could launch sometime in 2026 or 2027. Fingers crossed!
