Apple’s iPhone Roadmap: From iPhone 17 Air To The Foldable & Beyond

2026 and 2027 will be very interesting years for iPhone fans.

The iPhone’s look has felt pretty stale for a while now. But according to the buzz, that’s all about to change. Rumour has it Apple is cooking up not one, but three major redesigns in the pipeline.

Things are supposedly kicking off with the iPhone 17 series, which is launching early next month. There’s going to be a new model called the iPhone 17 Air, which would sit alongside the 17 Pro and Pro Max. The Air opt for a single rear camera and Apple’s in-house C1 modem. The trade-off? A smaller battery and the complete removal of the physical SIM card slot. As for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, the big news is a totally redesigned rear camera module.

Then, looking ahead to 2026, the rumour says there’s a big one: a foldable iPhone. Apparently codenamed V68, this device would pack a total of four cameras—two on the back, one on the outer display, and one inside for selfies.

Early prototypes are being tested in classic black and white colours. Under the hood, it’s expected to run on Apple’s own C2 modem, and the inner screen might use a special in-cell touch panel to help minimise that fold crease and make everything feel more responsive.

But wait, there’s more. 2027 marks the iPhone’s 20th anniversary, and Apple reportedly has something special planned: the iPhone 20. This one is tipped to get a complete overhaul with a brand-new curved-glass design, making it totally different from anything we’ve seen before. It sounds like they’re pulling out all the stops for a proper celebration.
