After introducing the M3 iPad Air and the iPad (2025) with the A16 chip, Apple has finally unveiled an update to the MacBook Air (MBA) lineup. This update brings several key changes that we will laid out below.

The latest MBA models, available in 13-inch and 15-inch, now come equipped with Apple’s newest M4 chip, which was first introduced last year on the iMac and Mac mini. This chip boasts 10 CPU cores and up to 10 GPU cores, depending on the configuration.
The M4 chip also unlocks enhanced external display support. The new MBA can now support up to two 6K 60Hz external displays, a significant improvement over the previous generation, which only supported one.

Additionally, the new MBA models feature an updated 12MP Center Stage camera, which is also available on the MacBook Pro lineup. This camera delivers higher-resolution images while maintaining the 1080p video capture capability of its predecessor.

The ultra-wide focal length enables the Center Stage feature, which keeps you centred in the frame even as you move around the room. It also supports the Desk View feature, allowing you to capture both yourself and a perspective-corrected view of your desk simultaneously.
Other than these updates, the M4 MBA remains largely unchanged from the previous model. It retains the same design, display, I/O ports (two Thunderbolt 4 ports), keyboard and trackpad, memory (up to 32GB RAM) and storage options (up to 2TB), as well as the speaker and microphone array.
Pricing and Availability
The 13-inch MacBook Air with M4 starts at RM4,499 and the 15‑inch model starts at RM5,499. Both are available in Sky Blue, Midnight, Starlight, and Silver.
Students and teachers can get it at an even lower price, starting at RM4,069 for the 13-inch model, and the 15‑inch model starts at RM5,069.
Apple Malaysia said that customers can order the new MacBook Air “soon.”
The new 13-inch MBA has a starting price even lower than the 13-inch M3 MBA, which was initially priced at RM5,199 when it launched in March 2024 and later reduced to RM4,999.
