Bandai Brings The Gundam Base To Kuala Lumpur

It will be permanently located at Fahrenheit88 shopping mall.

For plenty of us in Malaysia, Gundam is more than just a hobby; it is a massive slice of childhood nostalgia. Whether you spent your days meticulously snapping together Gunpla kits or catching the anime on the TV, Gundam has a special place in our hearts.

I have been a huge fan since I was young, and my shelves at home are currently groaning under the weight of several kits and I have spent plenty of my time watching the various Gundam series.

The dream has always been to step foot inside a Gundam Base, and that is finally possible without having to book a flight. Bandai has officially set up shop with a permanent location at Fahrenheit88 in Kuala Lumpur. It is a collaboration between Bandai Namco Asia and the local distributor Litt Tak Sdn Bhd, and it officially opened its doors on 14 April 2026 following the massive success of their pop-up store last July.

According to Bandai Spirits Director Takahiro Mizuno, this opening is part of a bigger plan to spread the love for Gundam worldwide. It feels like we are finally catching up with our neighbours in Singapore and Thailand, who have had their own bases for a while now. Inside, it is basically a paradise for builders of any skill level.

They have everything from Entry Grade kits for the newbies to the incredibly detailed (and incredibly expensive) Perfect Grade models for the veterans, plus some exclusive Gunplas that have never been released in Malaysia before.

If this flagship store takes off the way we expect it to, there is even better news on the horizon. Litt Tak’s Executive Director, Tan Ee Chian, has already hinted that they might expand to other spots like Penang or East Malaysia in the future.
