CelcomDigi has just upgraded its network security to tackle scam calls, introducing a smart Voice Firewall that spots and flags dodgy incoming calls in real time before you even answer them.
According to their press release, the mobile operator claims the new tech analyses call patterns and risk signals with impressive accuracy. This means it can catch malicious and fraudulent activity before it hits your phone, working right alongside their existing SMS firewall that already filters out dodgy text messages in the background.
A recent test run saw the system block a staggering 355 million suspicious calls, including 217 million automated robocalls. Now that the tech is live nationwide, any incoming call that looks a bit suspicious will display a Suspected Scam warning on your screen, giving you a proper heads-up so you can decide whether to pick up or ignore it.
