Dyson has just dropped their latest piece of tech, and this time they are setting their sights on oral care with the CameraJet. It is an electric toothbrush featuring a high-resolution video camera, allowing you to watch a live stream of your own teeth while you brush.
Following six years of development, Dyson claims the CameraJet can spot and clean those awkward gaps between teeth that traditional brushes usually miss. The device uses a micro lens camera that captures twenty-eight images every second. Whenever it detects a gap, it fires a tiny jet of mouthwash to floss between your teeth on the fly. Dyson says the conical shape of this spray works far better than the narrow jets used by standard water flossers.
If you have ever fancied a tour of the inside of your mouth, the toothbrush connects to the MyDyson app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. You can stream the camera footage straight to your phone in real-time, though Dyson promises that none of your personal mouth footage is actually recorded or stored anywhere.
Beyond the camera gimmick, Dyson asserts that the CameraJet tackles plaque far better than most standard electric toothbrushes. It achieves this using a mix of dual-bristle brush heads and variable sonic movement.
To keep the camera lens clear, Dyson even created their own non-foaming toothpaste, available in standard spearmint alongside a somewhat unusual ginger mint flavour.
The Dyson CameraJet comes in at USD499 (~RM2,016). Local pricing and official release dates for Malaysia are still to be confirmed.
