Huawei has just launched its latest pair of wireless earbuds in Malaysia, dubbed the FreeBuds Neo, where the name stands for New Energy On.
Under the hood, they feature a brand-new Turbo driver unit built with a lightweight yet rigid diaphragm. Stretching across a frequency range from 10Hz all the way up to 48kHz, these buds are tuned to deliver punchy bass, crisp highs, and a balanced, natural sound profile.
Audio enthusiasts will appreciate support for LDAC HD streaming at up to 990kbps, pushing a bit rate of up to 2.3Mbit/s and lossless 48kHz/24-bit sound for plenty of detail. Huawei has also baked in a 360-degree head-tracking feature to make your music feel more immersive, along with enhanced sound effects aimed directly at gamers.

On the battery front, you can expect up to 40 hours of total playback time with the charging case. On a single charge, the buds themselves last about 10 hours with active noise cancellation switched off, or around 6.5 hours with ANC turned on.
Ergonomics seem well thought out, with each earbud weighing a light 4.8 grams and featuring a pressure-relieving design that spreads weight evenly inside your ear. They offer a generous touch area covering 60% of the surface, making taps and swipes a lot smoother to control.

When it comes to blocking out the outside world, Huawei loaded these with a third-generation audio chip and clever adaptive algorithms. The system samples ambient noise up to 400,000 times every second with an ultra-low latency of just 8 microseconds, automatically tweaking the noise cancellation as you move between different surroundings.
For voice calls, a combination of three standard microphones and a bone-conduction mic works to isolate your voice while suppressing background clatter, keeping conversations clear even in loud spaces up to 95dB or outdoors in windy conditions.
Pricing and Availability
If you are looking to pick up a pair, the FreeBuds Neo are available now in Malaysia with a standard retail price of RM499.

However, Huawei is currently running an introductory promotion bringing the price down to RM399, which includes a few handy extras like a one-year Loss Care Service and a one-year regional APAC warranty.
