Hyundai just launched two new EVs at Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, the IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N. This marks the grand debut of the brand’s high-performance N sub-brand in Malaysia.
Both of these EVs were developed at Hyundai’s Namyang R&D Centre and honed on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany, so you know they mean business.

The IONIQ 5 N received the 2024 World Performance Car, and this electric beast cranks out up to 650PS when you engage the N Grin Boost, blasting you from zero to 100km/h in a mind-boggling 3.4 seconds. It tops out at 260km/h and offers a respectable WLTP driving range of 448km. Hyundai is offering this on a built-to-order basis with a price tag of RM443,888.

Not to be outdone, its sleeker sibling, the IONIQ 6 N, has just bagged the 2026 World Performance Car title and ups the ante even further. It packs the same ridiculous 650PS output but shaves the 0 to 100 sprint down to just 3.2 seconds.

This high-performance sedan will max out at 257km/h and gives you a bit more breathing room with a WLTP range of 487km. It is also available via a built-to-order programme, priced slightly higher at RM449,888.

Both cars are absolutely packed with Hyundai’s clever N-specific tech designed to make EVs actually feel like driver’s cars. You get features like N e-Shift to simulate gear changes, N Active Sound+ for some auditory drama, and an N Drift Optimiser for when you want to get sideways. There is also N Torque Distribution, N Launch Control, and that sweet N Grin Boost button for instant overtaking power.
Bookings are officially open through authorised Hyundai N dealers. You can head over to Sime Darby Auto Hyundai in the Klang Valley, Goh Brothers Motor in Penang, or Heng Lian Enterprise in Kuching to secure yours, with more dealer locations promised in the near future.
