Apple just released the newest version of iOS that comes with several new features and customisation options.
The devices compatible with iOS 18 are: iPhone SE (2nd generation) onwards, including the iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, all iPhone 11 and 12 models, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, all iPhone 14 and 15 models, and the full iPhone 16 range.

The iOS 18 update now allow users to change the colour settings, including applying a new dark tone to all widgets on the home screen, and moving widgets on the home screen anywhere you want.
Apple is also adding new privacy features. Users will be able to lock and hide certain apps, keeping them safe from prying eyes.
Additionally, messages are getting new features such as tap-back options, scheduled messages, and the ability to add new text effects. Users can stay in touch with friends and family using new satellite communication options in messages, which now include end-to-end encryption.
For those with compatible phones, Apple Intelligence brings a suite of updated features to the iPhone. These include enhancements to Siri, making it more powerful and intelligent. The updated Siri can integrate with apps and even has access to ChatGPT to provide suggestions and information. Apple is also reportedly in talks to add even more options, offering users more choices than ever before.
Apple Intelligence will also allow users to generate images with prompts, adapt drawings in Notes, and create personalized emojis, known as “Genmoji.” It can recognise your writing style, replicate your handwriting, and suggest tone and context.
It can also summarise emails and notifications, helping you stay organised and avoid feeling overwhelmed. All these features will be available for free on compatible devices upon release.
Take note that Apple Intelligence will not be included in iOS 18. Instead, the initial set of features is scheduled to be released with iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 in October 2024.
