iPhone 17 May Disappoint With Few Hardware Upgrades

The new base iPhone model is reportedly using the same chipset and RAM as the iPhone 16.

Looks like the iPhone 17 won’t be getting any major upgrades.

According to GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu via MacRumors, the iPhone 17 will run on the same A18 chip and 8GB of RAM as the iPhone 16—so basically, no real changes there.

The only noticeable upgrade? A slightly bigger screen—reportedly 6.3 inches compared to the iPhone 16’s 6.1-inch display.

As for the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup (Air, Pro, and Pro Max), they’re expected to get the newer A19 chip and 12GB of RAM.

Apple will likely announce the whole iPhone 17 lineup this September, so we don’t have to wait long to see whether this rumour is true.
