Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone 17 series this September. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models are both expected to come with the new A19 Pro chipset, and a recent leak has given us an early look at how the chip might perform.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, who has a good track records of reliable leaks, the A19 Pro chipset might not be a massive leap over the A18 Pro.
The leak suggest it could score around 4,000 in Geekbench 6’s single-core test and roughly 10,000 in the multi-core test. While these numbers aren’t exact, they give a rough idea of what to expect.
For comparison, the A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max usually scores about 3,500 in single-core and 8,900 in multi-core testsm, according to Notebookcheck.net.
That means the A19 Pro could deliver a up to 20% performance boost over its predecessor—a solid upgrade, though not groundbreaking. Interestingly, this would also put the A19 Pro slightly ahead of the M4 in single-core performance, but just by a small margin.
Keep in mind these benchmark scores might not be final – Apple still has time to fine-tune the A19 Pro chipset’s performance before the iPhones launch in September.
