iQOO 15 Ultra Launched In China: Price, Specifications, And Gaming Features

It's powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with a big 7,400mAh battery and comes with a pair of 600Hz shoulder triggers.

iQOO has finally launched its first Ultra-tier handset in China, the 15 Ultra, and it looks like a bit of a beast for mobile gamers.

Under the bonnet, it is packing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is cooled by the Ice Dome system. It is a 17x17mm cooling fan, which is quite the feat considering the phone still manages a proper IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. It is paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage and a dedicated Q3 chip to help with things like frame generation and upscaling.

The display is a massive 6.85-inch Samsung M14 LTPO OLED panel that hits a 144Hz refresh rate. It is properly bright too, reaching 2,600 nits, and covers all the HDR bases like Dolby Vision and HDR Vivid.

For those with twitchy thumbs, the 480Hz touch sampling should keep things responsive, while a pair of 600Hz shoulder triggers on the side allow for customisable gestures. You also get some dual-axis vibration motors, an RGB strip around the camera island for that classic gamer aesthetic, and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.

Keeping everything running is a gargantuan 7,400mAh battery, which explains why the phone is a bit chunky at 8.7mm and 227g. You can top it up quickly with 100W wired charging or 40W if you prefer to go wireless.

On the photography front, iQOO hasn’t skimped, offering a trio of 50MP sensors for the main, 3x telephoto, and ultrawide cameras. There is a 32MP camera on the front for selfies as well.

At the moment, this phone is only available in China, starting at CNY5,699 (~RM3,229) for the 16GB+256GB model and climbing to CNY7,699 (~RM4,363) if you want the 24GB+1TB model. There is no word yet on whether we will see a global launch.
