Lenovo just showed off a new prototype at MWC 2026 called the Legion Go Fold, and it is easily one of the most flexible handhelds we have ever seen. Unlike your standard gaming slab, this thing folds both horizontally and vertically.
It is built around a POLED display that expands from a compact 7.7 inches all the way up to a massive 11.6 inches depending on how you want to play.
What makes it really clever is how it handles the controls. You can pop the controllers off and snap them onto the top and bottom instead of the sides, essentially turning the device into a vertical gaming machine. It is a bit of a dream for anyone into vertical shoot ’em up games that usually feel cramped on a standard 16:9 screen.

If you are more into the traditional setup, you can prop the screen up half-folded and pair it with a wireless keyboard. This turns it into a sort of pseudo-clamshell laptop, which works just as well for knocking out some emails or office work as it does for actual gaming.

Under the bonnet, the current prototype is packing some decent hardware, including an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor and 32GB of RAM. It is running on a 48-watt-hour battery, which sounds reasonable for a device this ambitious. This device was shown running on Windows 11, but we reckon it will support SteamOS as well.
Since it is still just a prototype, there is no guarantee it will ever hit shop shelves, but we are definitely crossing our fingers that this one makes it through the development cycle.
