Apple announced the latest MacBook Air with the M4 chip early March, but for some reason, it’s only just become available to buy in Malaysia.
Just to recap, the new MBA comes in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, both now running on Apple’s M4 chip—the same one that debuted last year in the iMac and Mac mini. The chip packs 10 CPU cores and up to 10 GPU cores, depending on the model you pick.
One of the big upgrades with the M4 is better support for external displays. The new MBA can now handle up to two 6K 60Hz monitors at once, a nice step up from the previous version, which only supported one.
There’s also an upgraded 12MP Center Stage camera, the same one found in the MacBook Pro lineup. It takes sharper photos while keeping the same 1080p video quality as before.

Aside from these changes, the M4 MacBook Air is pretty much the same as the last model. It keeps the same design, screen, ports (still two Thunderbolt 4), keyboard and trackpad, memory (up to 32GB RAM), storage options (up to 2TB), and speaker/microphone setup.
Prices start at RM4,499 for the 13-inch model and RM5,499 for the 15-inch, with colour options including Sky Blue, Midnight, Starlight, and Silver.
If you pre-order now, Apple says shipments will start on April 11. But right now, there’s no option to pick it up at the Apple Store in TRX.
