MyDigital ID To Become Mandatory For MyJPJ & MyBayar PDRM Logins

No commencement date yet, but it's happening "soon".

Get ready to say goodbye to your old passwords for a couple of key government services as MyDigital ID is about to become the only way to log in to MyJPJ and the MyBayar PDRM portal.

So, what is MyDigital ID? It’s Malaysia’s national digital identity system that was first introduced back in 2016. The whole idea is to give you a single login for dealing with both government and private sector services online.

Instead of remembering a bunch of different usernames and passwords, you just use this one ID. It verifies who you are by checking against official government records in real-time, and it doesn’t actually store any of your personal data itself.

The platform has been growing steadily and already has over three million users. It’s managed by My Digital ID Sdn Bhd, which falls under the Prime Minister’s Department, and it currently connects to more than 45 different online services.

The CEO of MyDigital ID, Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim, says this move is all about making your digital access simpler, more secure, and transparent. The system also supports biometric logins using your fingerprint or face for an extra layer of security and convenience.

For now, you can still use a traditional password on MyJPJ and MyBayar PDRM, but that option is being phased out soon. MyJPJ, run by the Road Transport Department, is your go-to for renewing licenses and paying summonses. MyBayar PDRM is the police’s system for handling traffic fines online.

As of this past July, it’s already plugged into 82 different digital systems, with 35 of those being fully live government platforms.
