We have been hearing whispers about the iPhone Fold for awhile now, and a new leak has just dropped, giving us a much better idea of what this thing actually looks like in the flesh.
Rather than following the usual tall and narrow look we see on most Android foldables, the iPhone Fold is sporting a wide design. On the back, there is a dual camera setup featuring two 48MP sensors for wide and ultrawide shots, all tucked into a camera plateau similar to what we have seen on the iPhone Air.
Also, judging by the photo, it is pretty clear that the Fold is a fair bit shorter than the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models, which seem to be sticking with their current dimensions and design.
Interestingly, there is talk that this device might actually be branded as the iPhone Ultra. However, it is not all smooth sailing; Nikkei Asia suggests Apple has hit a few snags during the engineering test phase. These hiccups could potentially push the release back by quite a bit.
The report says that several key suppliers have been told that component production might be delayed indefinitely. If Apple cannot get these issues sorted within the month, we might have to wait a few extra months for the official launch.
As for the screens, the cover display is rumoured to be around 5.3 inches, while the internal panel should open up to 7.8 inches. Both screens appear wider than anything else on the market, and the device will reportedly run an iPad-style interface that allows for side-by-side apps.
