Nintendo Finally Reveals Switch 2 Details: Price, Release Date & Specs!

The Switch 2 launch price is way pricier than the original Switch.

After years of anticipation, Nintendo has finally unveiled key details about the Switch 2, including its price, release date, and hardware specifications.

The successor to the wildly popular Nintendo Switch promises big upgrades in performance, display quality, and features—but at a higher cost than its predecessor.

The Switch 2 is priced at USD449.99 (~RM2,021) and a separate bundle with the new Mario Kart World game will also be available for USD499.99 (~RM2,236). For comparison, the original Switch was launched at USD299.99.

The console is set to launch globally on 5 June 2025, but Malaysian gamers will have to wait a bit longer—Nintendo confirms a July-September 2025 release window for the region.

The console will come bundled with Joy-Con 2 controllers (that also work like a mouse), the Switch 2 dock, an HDMI cable, a USB-C charging cable, and a Switch 2 AC adapter.

Nintendo is pushing the Switch 2 as a significant leap forward in both handheld and docked performance. Here’s what we know:

  • 256GB internal storage (a massive upgrade from the Switch’s 32GB)

The Switch 2 looks like a big step up in power and features, but that hefty price tag might turn some folks off. And let’s not forget—games like Mario Kart World are hitting shelves at USD79.99 (~RM357), which is a tough pill to swallow.
