After first popping up in other countries at the end of July, the CMF Watch 3 Pro has finally made its way to Malaysia.
This new model is aiming for a more premium vibe, thanks to its precision-milled metal frame and a soft-touch silicone strap. They’ve also given the display a nice bump up to 1.43 inches (from 1.32) and made it a bit brighter at 650 nits. It’s a sharp-looking screen with a 466 x 466 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.
You get over 120 customisable watch faces to play with, including some fun animated and interactive ones. And thankfully, the clever rotating crown is still there for zipping through menus.
Battery life has seen an improvement, too. It’s packing a larger 350mAh cell that’s good for up to 13 days of typical use (if you turn the always-on display off) or about 3.5 days with it on. A full charge takes around an hour and a half. For comparison, the last model had a 305mAh battery and topped out at 11 days.
All that new screen real estate means the body is a bit bigger now, coming in at 47mm. The exact size and weight will depend on which colour you go for, as the different finishes use different bezels.
On the fitness front, it’s got a massive 131 sports modes, covering pretty much anything from HIIT to yoga. It can even smartly detect what you’re doing and automatically start tracking. And before you begin, it can guide you through a warm-up with some handy 3D animations.
For those who like the outdoors, it’s got a solid IP68 rating and a upgraded dual-band GPS (L1 + L5) with support for all the major satellite systems. You also get Bluetooth calling built-in, complete with dual mics, a speaker, and AI noise cancellation. It supports some nifty gesture controls, like answering a call with a flick of the wrist. There’s also music controls and a quick ‘do not disturb’ toggle.
Perhaps the coolest new trick is having ChatGPT right on your wrist. You can ask it questions, use it as a running coach, or record voice notes that it’ll transcribe for you. There’s even an ‘Essential News’ feature that will read out headlines based on what you’re interested in.
