Nothing has just pulled back the curtain on its latest flagship earbuds, the Ear (3), and they look like a proper step up.
For the first time in the lineup, Nothing’s mixed its signature transparent aesthetic with a bit of metal, giving them a more premium feel. But the real party trick might be the charging case. It’s got this new ‘Super Mic’ feature, which is essentially a dual-mic system built right into the case itself, designed to make your calls crystal clear.
You just press a new ‘Talk’ button on the case, and it can apparently cut out a massive 95 dB of background noise. Handy for taking calls or even for recording quick voice notes directly into your phone’s memo app.
Of course, the earbuds themselves haven’t slouched on the call quality front either. Each one packs a three-mic setup plus a bone-conduction sensor to make sure your voice comes through perfectly, even on a windy day. They’ve also upped their game with real-time adaptive noise cancellation that can block out up to 45 dB of the outside world.
On the audio side, you’re getting upgraded 12mm dynamic drivers that promise a beefier bass response and a wider soundstage. They support static Spatial Audio and a great selection of codecs, including high-quality LDAC. They’re kitted out with Bluetooth 5.4 too, so you can connect to two devices at once.
The list of features goes on: in-ear detection, a low-lag mode for gaming, a Hi-Res Audio certification, and a useful IP54 rating for splash and dust resistance on both the earbuds and the case.
As for battery life, you’re looking at up to 5.5 hours with noise cancellation switched on, or a hefty 10 hours with it off. The case holds another 38 hours in reserve and supports both fast charging and wireless charging.
The Nothing Ear (3) will be available in your classic black or white and is set to land on 6 October, priced at RM759.
