Nothing’s CMF Launches Quirky, Milk Carton-Inspired Wireless Speakers S&M

These are CMF's first wireless portable speakers.

CMF, the budget-friendly sub-brand from Nothing, has released its very first portable wireless audio gear: the Speaker S and Speaker M. True to the brand’s playful vibe, both boast a distinctive geometric look that takes direct inspiration from a milk carton.

Both models pack Bluetooth 6.0, complete IP68 dust and water protection, and flexible multi-speaker pairing options. Stereo Mode lets you pair two matching units for proper left-right separation, while Party Mode uses Auracast technology so you can connect two or more compatible speakers, even if they are from different brands.

When it comes to sound, the compact Speaker S uses a custom-tuned 45mm full-range driver alongside dual passive radiators to output up to 10W RMS, covering frequencies from 70Hz to 20kHz. The larger Speaker M steps things up with a dedicated 25W woofer and a 10W tweeter, delivering a punchy 35W RMS output with a range of 60Hz to 20kHz.

Nothing has built in an adaptive tuning algorithm that analyses playback on the fly to adjust equalisation in real time. Through the Nothing X app, you can switch on Ultra Bass or Wide Soundstage modes, or choose between four EQ presets tuned for balanced sound, boosted bass, enhanced treble, or clearer vocal tracks.

Connectivity is comprehensive across the board, featuring NFC tap-to-pair, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, dual-device multipoint, and USB-C audio input. Physical controls include dedicated buttons for power, pairing, and Auracast, plus a tactile dial to manage volume, track skipping, playback, and Ultra Bass.

Battery life reaches up to 18 hours at half volume with Ultra Bass enabled, and a quick 10-minute top-up gives you an hour of playback.

Both sizes come in white, turquoise, dark grey, and orange, priced at USD59 (~RM240) for the Speaker S and USD109 (~RM445) for the Speaker M. Malaysian pricing and availability details are yet to be announced.
