Earlier this year, Nothing dipped its toes into the over-ear headphone market, and now its more accessible sub-brand, CMF, is having a go with the CMF Headphone Pro.
You can pick them up in a few muted shades like Light Green, Light Grey, and Dark Grey. If you fancy a pop of colour, the ear cushions are swappable; you can grab an extra pair in either Light Green or that signature CMF Orange for about RM89.

Under the hood, they’re packing 40mm drivers with copper voice coils. They’re also Hi-Res Audio Wireless Certified and support the SBC, AAC and LDAC codec for higher quality streaming. A rather clever feature is the Personal Sound Profile, developed with Audiodo. A quick three-minute test tailors the sound specifically to your hearing, and the best part is that this calibration lives on the headphones themselves. So, you get that custom sound whether you’re plugged into your phone or your laptop.

Battery life is seriously impressive, quoted at up to 100 hours. That’s with the Active Noise Cancellation switched off, mind you. Even with ANC turned on, you’re still looking at a very respectable 50 hours of use.
Speaking of ANC, it’s a Hybrid Adaptive system that claims to cut out up to 99% of background noise. The ‘adaptive’ bit means it can automatically adjust its strength – from light to full blast – based on what’s going on around you. Of course, there’s also a full transparency mode if you need to be aware of your surroundings.
For a bit of audio immersion, they’ve included Static Spatial Audio with dedicated Cinema and Concert modes. These tinker with the soundstage’s width, depth, and clarity to mimic the feel of a movie theatre or a live gig.
Instead of touch controls, CMF has gone for physical hardware. There’s a multi-function roller for volume and playback – you roll to adjust volume, press for play/pause, and hold it down to cycle through the ANC modes manually.

Then there’s the unique Energy Slider. This little switch lets you instantly crank up either the bass or the treble (you choose which in the Nothing X app), letting you fine-tune the sound to suit your listening preference.

Finally, there’s a customisable quick-access button. You can set it to toggle the Spatial Audio, start recording a voice note, or even summon ChatGPT.
