Nvidia recently updated their support page with some big news for anyone still clinging to Windows 10. The tech giant confirmed that they will stop releasing new Game Ready Drivers for the operating system after October 2026.
According to Nvidia via Videocardz, this same deadline applies to Nvidia Studio Drivers as well. Nvidia had previously promised to keep supporting Windows 10 for a full year past Microsoft’s official end-of-support date, which lands on October 14, 2025, and it looks like they are sticking strictly to that timeline.
If you are not quite ready to upgrade your operating system just yet, there is no need to panic. Nvidia mentioned that supported GeForce GPUs will switch over to quarterly security updates after October 2026. These updates will cover critical security fixes and will keep rolling out all the way through October 2029.
Your GeForce graphics card will carry on working just fine day to day. However, Windows 10 users will miss out on future Game Ready optimisations and standard driver updates once October 2026 comes around.
