Rumour has it that Nvidia’s upcoming APU (accelerated processing unit) will perform similarly to a GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU. An APU is a CPU with integrated graphics processing functions.
The report, sourced from UDN via Notebookcheck.net, suggests that Nvidia is teaming up with MediaTek to produce the chip. It’s expected to make its debut in a yet-to-be-announced Alienware product from Dell.
The APU is said to have a TDP of around 65 watts, based on Blackwell GPU architecture and it should deliver performance comparable to an RTX 4070 laptop.
On the CPU side, MediaTek will likely use off-the-shelf Arm cores, possibly the successor to the Cortex-X925. Combined with a discrete GPU and new Lumex (formerly Cortex) cores, this APU could become the most powerful Arm-based chip on the market—reportedly far ahead of anything Qualcomm currently offers.
If the rumours hold, we might see the APU unveiled at CES 2026, with a broader release following in the weeks after.
