OnePlus has just taken the wraps off its new flagship, the OnePlus 15, over in China. As you’d expect, it’s packing the very latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and you can spec it with a rather generous 16GB of RAM and a full terabyte of storage. But the real head-turner here might just be the battery – a colossal 7,300mAh cell that should keep you going for ages. To top it up, you’re looking at 120W wired charging and a nippy 50W wireless option.
The design has taken a turn for the flat, with the company ditching the quad-curved screen from the OnePlus 13. The display itself is a completely different affair, too. It’s a 6.78-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED that refreshes at a super-smooth 165Hz, using a newer BOE X3 panel. The bezels have been trimmed down to a uniform and barely-there 1.15mm on all sides, which should make for a wonderfully immersive view.

There’s been a proper shake-up with the cameras as well. For starters, the Hasselblad partnership is out, and Oppo’s own Lumo Imaging System is in. The main camera is still 50MP, but it’s using a slightly smaller sensor than its predecessor. The 50MP telephoto has also been tweaked, now offering a 3.5x optical zoom at an 85mm equivalent, moving on from the previous 3x lens. Rounding out the trio is a 50MP ultrawide, and on the front, a 32MP selfie camera with autofocus.

Under the hood, it’s running ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, and it comes with all the modern connectivity you’d want: WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner sits under the display, and it’s built to last with an IP68/IP69K rating, meaning it can handle a dunk in water and dust resistant.

For the moment, the OnePlus 15 is only on sale in China, starting at CNY3,999 (~RM2,361) for the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The good news for everyone else is that a global launch is expected to follow later in November.
